Gift in Your Will or Living Trust

A Simple Way to Make an Impact

A gift in your will or trust is a meaningful way to support the University of Maryland. Known as a charitable bequest, a gift in your will is a simple, flexible and versatile way to ensure the programs and experiences that positively impacted you will continue for years to come.

Your bequest may be designated for a specific purpose, such as a scholarship, faculty chair or campus program. Conversely, gifts may be designated as unrestricted to help the university address needs that cannot be foreseen today. If you prefer your gift to remain anonymous, we will gladly honor your request.

In as little as one sentence, you can complete your gift.

Young family with kidsWith three minor children, Andrew and Amy knew that it was time to create an estate plan for their family. They found that the estate planning process helped them reflect on the people and nonprofits that were important to them and the legacy they would like to leave. They learned how easy and flexible it can be to include one sentence to make a gift to Maryland for a percentage of their estate or a specific dollar amount.
